2024 Nile Conference head coaches pick their MVPs

The four head coaches of the 2024 Nile Conference had no doubts about who they would have voted for if there was an MVP award.

With eight games into the conference, they have seen enough, and all had something to say about the most impressive players they have seen so far.

Asked to pick players from teams other than theirs, this what they said:

Agusti Bosch (AL AHLY SC): “For what I have seen so far, I would pick [Khaman] Maluach, [Rolly Fula] Nganga, and [Thierry] Darlan. They are all playing great.”

Francois Enyengue (BANGUI SPORTING CLUB): “[Pierre] Jackson is my choice due to his high skill set.”

Ivan Jeremic (AL AHLY LY): “[Thierry] Darlan. The young man hasn’t reached his full potential yet, but I am surprised by what he can do.”

Karim Nesba (CITY OILERS): “I would vote for Khaman. He has been dominant throughout. I can’t pick a player from my team ? Then, I pick [Thierry] Darlan.”

Fula averaged 23.8 points while shooting 59% from deep.

Maluach appears as the second leading scorer with 22 points while recording league-highs of 13.5 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

The 17-year-old has recorded three consecutive double-doubles in four games.

Jackson, who limped off the court with an ankle injury early in the first game against City Oilers, averaged 14.5 points and 5.8 assists per game.

Just like his former NBA Academy Africa teammate, Darlan recorded three double-doubles in four gameswhile averaging 19.5 points and 10 rebounds.

All four players are expected to return to action on Friday when the 2024 Nile Conference resumes after a rest day.
