BAL Social Responsibility
BAL Community, the league’s corporate social responsibility platform, uses the game of basketball as a social connector to help create meaningful impact across the continent. Together with its partners and teams, the BAL is committed to highlighting social issues that aim to educate, unify, and keep our fanbase healthy and safe.
The league is also focused on delivering sustainable social impact through personal career development programs designed to empower young people, volunteering in service oriented projects that benefit marginalized members of society, and creating safe spaces where children and families can live, learn, and play.
BAL Green is the league’s environmental platform which explores ways that our business and fans can make a positive impact on the environment and in people’s lives. We advocate for greater environmental responsibility by all in support of sustainable greener communities.
Threes for Trees is a BAL green initiative supported by founding partner NFE in which three trees are donated towards the Great Green Wall for every three-pointer made during the BAL Season. Additionally, each time a fan shares, likes, comments or retweets a #BALGreen qualified social media post, one tree will be planted.
BAL4Her is the league’s commitment to promote gender equality among fans and local stakeholders and to develop pipelines and recruitment opportunities for women to fully participate and be visible across BAL operations. Through BAL game-day assets, teams, and collaborative efforts with corporate and community partners, the BAL will provide financial support and bring awareness to organizations that drive the female agenda forward.
