Who will clinch the last two tickets for the 2024 BAL Playoffs?

The last two tickets to the 2024 BAL Playoffs will be determined on the last day of the 2024 Sahara Conference, Sunday, May 12 at Dakar Arena.

After Rivers Hoopers beat APR 78-71 in a double-overtime encounter on Saturday to clinch the conference’s first ticket to the next round, there are two more tickets up for grabs.

APR, AS Douanes and US Monastir head to the last day of the conference with a 2-3 apiece, but only two of them will progress to Kigali later this month.

Here’s how teams can qualify to the 2024 BAL playoffs:

Sunday's fixtures: Rivers Hoopers v US Monastir; AS Douanes v APR
 
If Rivers Hoopers and AS Douanes win, the order will be:
1st - Rivers Hoopers (5-1) (Qualified)
2nd - AS Douanes (3-3) (Qualified)
3rd - US Monastir (2-4) (Qualified) - if they lose by <17 points.
4th - APR (2-4) (Eliminated)
 
If Rivers Hoopers and APR win, the order will be:
1st – Rivers Hoopers (5-1) (Qualified)
2nd – APR (3-3) (Qualified)
3rd – AS Douanes (2-4) (Qualified) – if they lose by <37.
4th – US Monastir (2-4) - (Eliminated) 

If US Monastir and APR win, the order will be:
1st - Rivers Hoopers 4-2 (Qualified)
2nd – US Monastir (3-3) (Qualified)
3rd – APR (3-3) (Qualified)
4th – AS Douanes (Eliminated)
 
If US Monastir and AS Douanes win, the order will be:
1st – Rivers Hoopers (4-2) (Qualified)
2nd – AS Douanes (3-3) (Qualified)
3rd – US Monastir (3-3) (Qualified) if they lose by <17
4th – APR (2-4) (Eliminated)

Teams within each Conference will be ranked based on the following criteria, in order, until one of the criteria are met:
 
1) W-L Record
2) Head-to-Head Record
3) Points:
a. Head-to-head point differential
b. Head-to-head number of points scored
c. Average overall Conference point differential
d. Average overall Conference points scored
4) Drawing
 
The top-two teams in each conference will advance to the BAL Playoffs.
Two of the top 3rd ranked teams in each conference will advance based on records and then various point tie-breakers, as needed
