ASC Ville De Dakar (SENEGAL)

ASC Ville de Dakar was born from the ashes of ASC Municipalité de Dakar, which had existed since 1985. After a long journey and several trophies won at youth levels, the team consistently fell short of reaching the first division.
ASC Municipalité was replaced by ASC Ville de Dakar in 2006, following a name change initiated by City workers and driven by Mr. Yaya Seye, who became the first Vice President of the board led by Ibrahima Bathily, then Director of the Olympic swimming pool.
At that time, the club only had a women’s team, with players and coaches coming from ASC Municipalité.
With the arrival of President Ibrahima Yatma Diaw in 2012, the Dakar-based club gained new momentum and began to stand out.
After losing a final in front of Dakar’s mayor, Khalifa Sall, in 2014, he pledged to place sports—and basketball in particular—at the heart of the city’s ambitions.
In 2012, the men’s team was established and reached the first division two years later, in 2014, before winning its first championship title in 2024.
