RSSB TIGERS (RWANDA)

Founded in 2019 and based in Kigali, RSSB Tigers Basketball Club is one of the leading teams in the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). The club was established by former professional player Francis Shyaka and quickly developed into a competitive program at national level under its original name, Tigers Basketball Club.

In 2025, the team won both the Rwanda Basketball Cup and the Super Cup after defeating APR BBC. Later that year, ownership was transferred to the Rwanda Social Security Board, leading to the club’s rebranding as RSSB Tigers.

RSSB Tigers became the fourth Rwandan team to compete in the Basketball Africa League, following Patriots Basketball Club (2021), REG (2022 and 2023), and APR (2024 and 2025). Making their BAL debut in 2026, the Rwandan champions advanced to the BAL Finals in Kigali, where they were crowned BAL champions after defeating Petro de Luanda 90–88 in the final, securing the first continental title in the club’s history.
